Finally, newborn twins! | Nashville twin newborn photographer

I have been wanting to take pictures of newborn twins for a while now so I was so excited when Holly contacted me about her sweet little angels.  They were born a little early and spent some time in the NICU and things got busy for this momma so when she told me they were 3 months old I will admit I was a little nervous.  I try to photograph newborns in the first 2 weeks and even though they were early I thought they might not like being posed.  I was so wrong!!!  These were the easiest newborns I’ve done to date!  Could they be any cuter???  Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your sweet newborn (or not so newborn) angels!!

I also wanted to share part of the email she sent to me.  Never underestimate the power of kind words.  This email meant the world to me!  Thank you!

‘”Tiera, I wanted to tell you how much our newborn session meant to me.

When you have babies that are born prematurely… everything is different than you expect. You leave the hospital without your babies. Your days are filled with with monitor beeps and grams gained. It’s weeks before you’re able to hold your baby in your arms. Friends and family aren’t able to be there for the birth, and it’s usually kind of a scary, emergency experience. You can’t show the babies off to visitors, since the NICU has a restricted visitation policy.
Some people have a really, really hard time with all of that. Our babies were in the NICU for a month, and there were definitely some hard moments. But for the most part, we were thankful that are babies arrived safely, were healthy, and had access to amazing medical care.
It was easy for us to let go of a lot of our expectations, but I really, really wanted some sweet newborn pictures. I think our babies are more than adorable, and wanted pictures that captured their perfect little features. We didn’t post a lot of pictures of the babies when they were in the NICU – you hate for the first pictures people to see to be of tubes and wires. I &  I were only 3 pounds when they were born, so I wanted to give them some time to gain weight before we did newborn shots.
But between the twins coming home, moving in to our new house, Ian’s baby acne, Isla losing her hair, and TJ’s dad having unexpected spinal surgery… I kind of missed my window for newborn shots.
I continued to mourn that, so I decided to give you a call anyway.  I thought there was NO way we would get the snuggly, sleepy newborn shots. But I thought they would sleep pretty well, and be content, and if nothing else, get some great 3 month style shots. I so appreciate you being willing to give it a shot, and fit me in before your big trip. That was so thoughtful of you.
And then… seeing the way you cared for my sweet little ones… You were SO good with them. And the amazing shots you were able to get… It absolutely brought tears to my eyes. I can’t believe you were able to give us such a “normal” newborn baby experience. It means the world to me. I can’t wait to see the rest of the shots!
Thank you, Tiera! You have given our family a priceless gift. You are SO gifted at what you do.
Love,
Holly”
